Case Study Përtej 1997 – 2017 – book presentation

19.06.2018. | 19:00

The book “Case Study Përtej” brings together twenty years of artistic and cultural collaboration, mutual experiences and friendship. Artists from Kosovo and Serbia, curators, art historians, cultural workers over the past 20 years, from 1997 to 2017, who developed mutual cooperation and exchange, evoked their experiences through interviews and testimonies. This is a book about a unique and singular continuity – Përtej, Beyond, Preko – of two politically conflicted societies, and it is meant as a legacy for future generations, for them to know and carry it with them. This gesture, this book and this discussion are extremely important in these moments when politicians are working on the deconstruction of all previous achievements, in order to erase our memory and ignite future conflicts for their own personal benefit. The book “Case Study Përtej” is a window to understanding our mutual past, present and future.

The event will include a screening of interviews made with the participants of the exhibition Përtej from 1997 in Belgrade.

Speakers: Shkelzen Maliqi, Borka Pavićević, Dejan Sretenović, Jeton Neziraj

“Case Study Përtej” is produced as part of the project “Përtej/Beyond/Preko 20 Years”, realized in partnership between the Center CZKD and Kosovo Glocal from Prishtina in 2017-18. In October 2017, a seminar “Case Study Pertej” was organized in Belgrade, followed by a study trip to Prishtine, which inspired and encouraged further research and exchange of archives and experiences.
