Tandem Turkey Reflection & Kick-off meeting in Belgrade

23.10.2018. | 10:00

From October 23rd to 26th, 2018 at the Center for Cultural Decontamination, 40 participants from a variety of places and communities in Turkey, the wider Europe, and Iran will join together for a Reflection & Kick-off meeting in Belgrade. The Agenda includes study visits, storytelling, developing collaboration plans, consultation sessions, discussion about the Western Balkans & cultural scene with invited guests from Belgrade, and exploring the city and its culture with hosts from Belgrade.

TANDEM IS FOR PEOPLE WORKING IN CULTURE AND CIVIL SOCIETY THAT STRENGTHENS CIVIL SOCIETY IN EUROPE AND NEIGHBOURING REGIONS.

Tandem Turkey aims at establishing long-term partnerships between cultural organisations from Turkey and the EU countries. The political landscape across the EU, Turkey and the neighbouring regions is substantially changing. In times of harsher working circumstances for cultural actors in Turkey and a vanishing EU integration perspective, building robust long-term collaboration channels between Turkey and the EU has become ever more essential.

Tandem offers a space to build real, meaningful and sustainable relationships that can grow through shared artistic interests, enthusiasm for creative discovery and the joy of making things happen together.

The programme acts on different levels, offering professional development to individuals, as well as supporting organisational change processes and creating a space to experiment with innovative ideas.

While building a collaborative project, both partners – TANDEMS commit to the process of working together, to share their expertise and to learn from each other, contribute to increasing empathy, breaking stereotypes and shaping a common language.
